Curved planter boxes in luxury apartment complex
Sevens Como development at 1 Wooltana Street, Como, by Sevens Group Australia and designed by boutique architecture practice PROEKT+. It comprises nine townhouses and three apartments, positioned close to the Canning River.
Como, WA
Curves are a defining feature of the Sevens Como development, with flowing forms and rounded architectural detailing creating a softer, more contemporary aesthetic throughout the project.
This design language continues onto the roof terraces of the penthouse apartments, where ThermaSheet™ Flex scored curved boards were used to construct custom curved planter boxes. The flexibility of the boards allowed the installers to create smooth, sweeping forms that complement the architecture while providing a lightweight alternative to more traditional masonry construction.
Particularly suited to this rooftop application, ThermaSheet™ is lightweight, waterproof and easy to shape on site, helping reduce structural weight and simplify the construction of bespoke curved features. Its cementitious surface also provides a finish-ready substrate that can be rendered directly, reducing additional preparation and construction stages.
The result demonstrates how ThermaSheet™ can be used beyond traditional wet-area applications to create bespoke architectural and landscaping features where curves, functionality and construction efficiency come together.
